How it works

A gentle start to writing
A child's own name is usually the first word they want to write, which makes it the perfect place to begin:
- Start with the dotted outline so there is plenty of support, then move to grey letters, then to copying.
- Say each letter as they trace it, so sound and shape go together.
- Keep it short. A line or two a day is gentler than a whole page at once.
- Capital first, then lower case. Most children write the first letter as a capital and the rest in lower case.
